Summer Online Card Class

I have been in a little bit of a crafting slump for a while.  I FINALLY finished my Masters Degree in Special Education and have been in that mode for so long now that I forget that I now give myself permission to be in the studio creating things.  I am waiting on my upcoming pay raise so I eyed the online card class from afar and dreamed that I would get to participate in it.  I follow Kristina Werner on Facebook and she mentioned winning spots on her Summer Online Card Camp 2.  I had participated in the first camp last year.  I really enjoyed it but didn't have the extra money to spend on the class this year.  ANYWAY, I started entering the contests by commenting on others blogs and I WON!  I could barely believe it.  When I received the email I screamed I WON!  My DH didn't know what to think of me. I never win things so I was really surprised!  Here is the great lady that I won a spot from: Kim Jackson.

All that being said...... I have really enjoyed the class.  I hardly ever participate in galleries but I needed to kick my own butt into high gear.  I am WAY behind.  (We have been trying to potty train!!)  (We almost have it! WAHOO!)  Here is the card that I finally got to sit down and create yesterday.

Not going to spend anymore time posting.......  I am going to TRY and create something else..... If the kids will let me!

Baby Shower Card

Just a quick post to show you guys the card for my sister in law's shower.  I really enjoyed designing it.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the card.  I found the card template on the Silhouette store.  Here is the front:

I used a couple different Close to My Heart stamp sets on the front.  I used Zoology stamp set for the giraffe image.  The shapes are cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut out the shapes on the front.  Then I used liquid glass on top of the image to make it look like it was an epoxy sticker.

Here is the inside of the card:

I used the print and cut option with the Silhouette Cameo.  It was the first time that I tried this feature and I LOVED it!!  So cool!

That's all for today............. (oh, did you see my nails??  They are Jamberry's.  Love them!!)

Where has the time gone?

I have been MIA again!!! I have got to make it a regular habit to post!!!!  I have been super busy.  The summer is half way over and I feel like we haven't even had one yet.  I am either running with the kids or we are busy doing things around the house.

One of the goals that I had for the summer is to clean and organize my craft studio.  I am almost finished.  I have discovered that I do not need to buy any more crafting supplies for quite some time.  I always buy on clearance or at a good deal.  Even with that I do not need ANYTHING.  I will have to remind myself of this when the new CTMH books comes out.  Consultants are able to see the book starting today.  I am super excited!  I do have a little stash put away so there may be some have to have items!!

When I started cleaning out my studio I discovered a layout that I had not put together.  It was from our team meeting.  While I was at the meeting I didn't take the time to put it together and brought it home to do.  I left the meeting not feeling well and discovered two days later that I had strep throat.  (No wonder I didn't feel well.)  Anywho, I didn't do the layout and completely forgot about it until I discovered it.  I sat down to rest from all the cleaning and put it together.  Here it is:

I will TRY to be better at posting!!!!  For now I have to call it a night.  My kids have yet to realize that it's summer break and still wake up at 6:30-7!  Night all and see you soon!

Great Day

Yesterday was a WONDERFUL day!!  The weather was great, had lunch with friends, and got to spend time in the craft room creating projects.

Next week it's back to work for me.  I have been off since March so this will be bittersweet for me.  I miss my kids at school, but have thoroughly enjoyed my time at home with my munchkins.  Once I am back I will love being there and I always have snow days to look forward too.  (Already doing the snow dance for the winter.)

I got to have lunch with two of my good friends, Beth and Shannon.  They are fellow teachers and we work at different schools so we don't get to see each other that much.  Here is a pic that we snapped after we spent two hours chatting over lunch.

The rest of the day was spent in my craft room creating projects for my open house.  I am SUPER excited about having it and introducing all the new stuff from Close to my Heart.  Here are a few projects that I got completed:

The stamp of the month is Wicked:

I was not crazy about this stamp set.  I do not like to celebrate Halloween.  I didn't know what I would do with the set, then I found a card on this blog: Jen's Jewel Box I took an idea of a Halloween card and turned it into a fall themed card.  Here it is:

You can buy this stamp for only $5 with a $50 purchase.  It is a great value!!  If you order the stamp of the month then you get a FREE stamp set.  Check out this card I made with the FREE set:
You can get the items you need to make these cards at my website.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me at baughman@wildblue.net.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!!
